We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Nigel Friend as Associate Director – Projects. Nigel joins our senior management team to lead our decommissioning service area and strengthen our project management capability.
Nigel has an unrivalled depth of knowledge and expertise in the construction, demolition and petroleum industries.
With over 35 years’ experience, he has built a strong reputation for delivering complex, high value decommissioning projects for clients including the MOD, NHS, Local Authorities and HM Prison Service, and a number of major oil companies and large engineering consultancies.
Prior to joining REDS, Nigel spent 22 years at LCM Environmental where he held a number of positions from Plant Operator to Project Manager, before progressing to his most recent role as Senior Project Surveyor. During his career at LCM, Nigel participated in over 800 site decommissions and developed specialist techniques and operating procedures for delivering projects safely and efficiently.
Nigel specialises in planning and delivering decommissioning, tank maintenance and ground remediation projects ranging from filling station decommissions and multi-site tank maintenance contracts, to commercial tank farm cleaning and fuel tank inspections. He has an excellent track record in health and safety and is renowned for ensuring all projects are delivered with minimal impact on the environment.
