David Hocking Introduced As New Defence Project Manager

Army trucks in a line

David joins us as Defence Project Manager, delivering all reactive and remedial projects across multiple MOD sites from Southampton to Gloucester and all the way down to Cornwall.

His days are a balance of site visits and remote working, ensuring that all IRT works are delivered smoothly and efficiently. We thought this would be a great opportunity to find out a little more about David.

Could you tell me a bit more about your defence background?

A former member of the Armed Forces, serving 30-plus years as a regular and reservist. After leaving the Armed Forces, I continued to work within the defence sector, initially as an aircraft engineer working for MOD contractors before moving over to a management position for a major defence facilities management company, carrying out service delivery and management of MOD projects.

What do you do in your spare time when you’re not at REDS?

My time out of work is mainly spent at home with my wife, carrying out the day-to-day tasks associated with managing our smallholding. Summer is always a particularly busy time of year. If/when not outside, I always have plenty to do inside, renovating the house.

“Having had the privilege of working alongside REDS, forming a strong relationship delivering projects at a prominent MOD air station, I’m now excited to be part of the REDS team. I aim to use my defence facilities knowledge and experience to deliver similar projects across the wider South West contract.”
