International Women’s Day

Give to Gain

International Women’s Day 2026 is centred on the theme Give To Gain, a call to recognise that when we give generously, we create stronger opportunities, stronger organisations and stronger communities.

Working in a male-dominated industry

We operate in an industry that remains predominantly male. Progress has been made, but there is more to do. Gender equality is not achieved through statements alone. It is built through everyday actions, intentional support and shared responsibility.

When women thrive, teams perform better. When diverse perspectives are valued, decision-making improves. When opportunity is shared, organisations grow stronger.

What Give To Gain means at REDS

We reached out to Lucy Hutchinson, Head of People & Culture, to get her thoughts on International Women’s Day.

“In advance of International Women’s Day on Sunday, I want to take a moment to recognise and celebrate this year’s theme of Give to Gain by encouraging greater inclusion, opportunity, and recognition.

The principle of Give to Gain is something we, at REDS, strongly believe in. To us, it means supporting one another, sharing knowledge, creating opportunities, and championing the success of others. By investing in people and celebrating achievements, we help build a stronger, more inclusive industry for everyone.

We are proud to acknowledge the incredible women within our organisation and across our wider network. We operate in an industry that has traditionally been male-dominated, yet the contribution of women continues to grow and plays an important role in shaping its future.

We, at REDS, pledge to celebrate the achievements of the women in our teams in both their professional milestones they accomplish within the workplace and the personal successes they achieve beyond it. Their continued dedication, expertise, and perspectives strengthen our business and the industry as a whole.

International Women’s Day is an opportunity not only to recognise progress, but also to reaffirm our commitment to supporting, valuing, and championing the women who help drive REDS forward.”

The women at REDS

At REDS, women make up 20% of our workforce, contributing across a range of roles from Environmental Consultants and Training Project Managers to Finance. In what is still a male-dominated industry, you may not see us often enough, as many of us are hard at work behind our screens, keeping projects moving and the wheels turning across the business.

We would like to end this article with a tribute to the women of REDS. Quite simply, it would not be REDS without them.
