Community impact
We believe that prioritising social value is not only a responsibility but an essential part of building stronger, more resilient communities. Our commitment to making a positive impact goes beyond our core services, as we actively engage in initiatives that foster social equity, environmental sustainability and community well-being.
We are dedicated to providing equal employment opportunities for people from all backgrounds and industries, with a particular focus on supporting the Armed Forces community. As part of this commitment, we have signed the Armed Forces Covenant and proudly hold the Bronze award from the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme. We are now working towards achieving the Silver award, further strengthening our support for service leavers and veterans transitioning into civilian careers.
Supporting local
We are proud to support a range of local community initiatives, including the sponsorship of youth sports teams and family events. We also back mental health and wellbeing campaigns and work with youth groups to encourage community engagement. Our team regularly supports environmental improvement activities, such as local village and beach clean-ups, helping to create healthier spaces for everyone.
Proudly supporting charities
Our monthly staff-nominated charity donation scheme enables us to contribute to causes that matter to our team. Donations have been made to national charities such as Prostate Cancer UK, Young Lives vs Cancer and the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation, as well as environmental organisations including Action for Conservation and the Dawlish Waterfowl Protection Organisation. Since launching the scheme, we have donated over £3,000 and we are committed to continuing this support.
Empowering Our Team to Give Back
We also offer all employees up the opportunity to volunteer to charities, empowering our team to give back to the causes they care about. Our commitment to social value has been formally recognised through Social Value certification from Constructionline, supported by our strong Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policy and our partnerships with recruitment agencies that specialise in resettling ex-military personnel.
